Lesson in Futility

I don’t know if this was ever worth doing.
Not just the site.
The whole trying thing.
Ghost truths. Cultural silence. What was done and never named.
I don’t know if this was ever worth doing.
Not just the site.
The whole trying thing.
We didn’t vote for billionaires to leave the planet.
We just bought batteries.
And cheap shoes.
And plastic bullshit made by kids who’ll never drink clean water again.
And that was enough.
I wasn’t supposed to say anything.
Not out loud. Not like this.
I was taught to be polite.
To work hard.
To trust the process.
To keep my head down and hope for the best.
That if I stayed good, the system would be good to me.
That if I stayed quiet, I’d be safe.
